Does anyone have any good suggestions for icebreakers/warmers for adult classes?

Thanks,
Sue

One of my favorite part of

One of my favorite part of the English classes with our teacher was role playing lecture. This kind of exercise gave us the opportunity to learn English by hearing, reading and speaking all at once and it was very effective. The most meticulous part was practicing on accent reduction , some of us still do that.

kim's game

“Kim’s game” is works well with younger students. I think the name comes from the book by Rudyard Kipling.

It works best when you’re teaching fairly basic language (like foods or something). You place several objects on a table, preferably related to the vocab in your lesson, then cover them after about a minute. Students have to try to remember all the items.

all types

I teach lots of different groups – all ideas are welcome. I’m just looking for short games/activities to wake up my students at the beginning of class!

what kind of class?

Hi Sue. What kind of class are you teaching? How old are the students, how many of them are there, what is their standard of English etc?
